The Okere District Assembly has undertaken a series of activities under the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP) aimed at enhancing road accessibility, improving transportation efficiency, and promoting socio-economic development across the district.
As part of the programme, the Works Department and Engineering Unit carried out routine assessments, maintenance works, and upgrades on selected feeder roads and community access routes. Key activities included grading, reshaping, spot improvement, and clearing of road shoulders to ensure safe and uninterrupted movement for residents, farmers, traders, and transport operators.
The DRIP activities also formed part of the Assembly’s commitment to strengthening road infrastructure in rural and peri-urban communities to support agricultural production, market linkages, school access, and emergency services. Community members expressed appreciation for the improvements, which have significantly enhanced mobility and reduced travel time.
The District Assembly remains committed to sustaining these interventions and collaborating with relevant agencies to ensure that all communities benefit from improved road networks and enhanced service delivery.
