OKERE DISTRICT CHIEF EXECUTIVE RESPONDS TO INFRASTRUCTURE NEEDS AT LAKPA SCHOOL

In order to evaluate the state of the Lakpa School, which has been dealing with serious structural issues, the District Chief Executive (DCE) made a working visit to the Lakpa community. The Assembly’s commitment to enhancing educational facilities and guaranteeing a secure learning environment for students and instructors included the visit.

The DCE found that the school block had deteriorated over time as a result of aging, bad weather, and poor maintenance. There were apparent fissures, deteriorated roofing sheets, and compromised classroom structures in some parts of the building, which raised questions about the students’ safety. Concerns on how these conditions will affect academic activity were also voiced by educators and community members.

In return, the DCE promised the locals and school administrators that the Assembly would give the school block’s rehabilitation top priority. He underlined that creating favorable learning environments is crucial to raising academic achievement and that education continues to be a major pillar of the district’s development goal.

The significant erosion that is impacting the surrounding homes and school environment was another concern that the DCE tackled. He approved the building of drainage systems to control stormwater and stop more erosion after evaluating the circumstances. It is anticipated that this intervention will improve safety, safeguard the school grounds, and maintain the surrounding infrastructure.

Community leaders and residents expressed appreciation for the visit and the prompt response from the Assembly. They also assured their support and cooperation when construction works commence.

The visit reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening educational infrastructure and safeguarding communities against environmental challenges, as the district continues to invest in improved facilities for quality teaching and learning.
