DISTRICT CHIEF EXECUTIVE’S COURTESY CALL

The District Chief Executive (DCE) of Okere district , Hon. Eric William Ayettey paid a courtesy call on the Chief of Amanfro Nana Ojokaw III on 2nd June, 2025 as part of efforts to introduce himself and strengthen collaboration between the District Assembly and Traditional leadership.  The visit, provided an opportunity for the DCE and his delegation to engage directly with the traditional authorities and residents on pressing development issues within Amanfro.

Present at the function were the elders of Amanfro, some community members, the District Coordinating Director, District Agric Officer, representatives of the Works Department, and the Assistant Directors of the District Assembly.

The Chief and elders of Amanfro welcomed the team and congratulated the DCE on his appointment, they had some pressing issues they wanted to discuss with the team. These issues were;

  • Removal of the refuse dump from Amanfro
  • Creation of access roads and layouts
  • Construction of sanitation facilities.
  • Provision of electricity poles

In his submission, the Chief of Amanfro implored the DCE and his officials to remove the refuse damp as the district office requested to use the place temporary for three months and the three months was far over. He also pleaded with the office to come to their aid as their public sanitation facility was in ruins. He also asked for a secondary school to be built downhill since all the secondary schools were uphill. He ended his speech by saying he was ready to released land for any developmental project in the community.

In his remarks, the DCE expressed his appreciation to the Chief and elders for their continuous support for the Assembly’s developmental agenda. He emphasized the importance of traditional leaders in promoting peace, unity, and community mobilization, particularly in addressing challenges. The DCE reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to supporting community development and addressing the concerns raised, particularly those highlighted above. The call ended with mutual expressions of cooperation and a pledge to maintain open lines of communication.
