OKERE DISTRICT ASSEMBLY STAFF DURBAR

 

The Assembly successfully held its Staff Durbar, bringing together management and staff to discuss key administrative issues, strengthen workplace collaboration, and enhance organizational performance. The durbar created an open platform for staff to engage leadership, share concerns, and receive updates on ongoing programmes, policies, and strategic priorities.

The Durbar begun with staff being educated on general wellbeing and the need to take good care of our health by Ms Amanda from Ghana Health Service

The presentation was led by Leading Fire Officer Attipoe and Fire Officer Addo.

All employees should be trained to use fire extinguishers. It was recommended the training session cover how to handle; what type of extinguisher to use; and the PASS system of early-stage firefighting.The training also covered the type and causes of fires.

The Human Resource Department educated staff on LOCAL GOVERNMENT SERVICE PROTOCOLS-LEAVE MANAGEMENT.

They did well to define Leave,types of leave and the number of days associated with them.

PRESENTATION ON THE VISION OF THE SERVICE BY THE DISTRICT COORDINATING DIRECTOR (DCD)

The District Coordinating Director outlined the vision of new Head of service.Mr. Affadu further explained Professor Mensah’s six strategic priority areas with Ethical Governance and Leadership – enhancing attendance tracking, activating Client Service Units, and enforcing administrative oversight, Staff Capacity and Institutional Reform – conducting staff audits and redeployments, and offering continuous training in leadership, finance, and citizen engagement, Community Engagement – strengthening town hall meetings and involving civil society organizations and traditional authorities in planning and budgeting, Responsive Service Delivery – reactivating dormant departments and aligning sectoral projects with District Development Plans, Accountable Financial Management – enforcing audit requirements, publishing budgets, and promoting participatory budgeting, Private Sector Collaboration – introducing District Investment Profiles, establishing Local Investment Desks, and leveraging ICT tools for service delivery and transactions. 

OPEN FORUM

The durbar was marked by productive discussions, renewed commitment to teamwork, and a shared resolve to advance the institution’s goals. Management expressed appreciation to all staff for their dedication and encouraged continuous communication and cooperation across all departments.
