PAY YOUR RATES, SECURE YOUR PERMITS: DISTRICT ASSEMBLY CRACKS DOWN ON DEFAULTERS

The District Assembly has started an initiative to serve and post Final Demand Notices on the property of business owners and property owners who have failed to pay Property Rates and Business Operating Permit (B.O.P.) fees in an effort to improve Internally Generated Funds (IGF) and strengthen revenue mobilization.

In compliance with the relevant rules and regulations, the exercise seeks to remind defaulters of their unpaid debts and promote timely payment to prevent additional enforcement measures.

The Assembly’s commitment to guaranteeing revenue compliance, accountability, and the mobilization of sufficient resources to enable infrastructure development and enhanced service delivery throughout the district includes this project.

Property developers who have started building projects without getting the necessary building permits from the Assembly are also the target of the exercise.

This program aims to improve the Assembly’s Internally Generated Funds (IGF) for efficient service delivery and sustainable development, motivate defaulters to fulfilll their financial responsibilities, and encourage adherence to building laws.

In order to prevent additional legal enforcement proceedings, the Assembly advises all impacted property owners, business owners, and developers to take prompt action to regularize their status.
